Our story

About Pebble and Pask

Curating coastal glimmers one piece at a time, from the beaches of North Vancouver Island.

It started with a calendar I couldn’t find

I made my first sea glass calendar in 2012, because I couldn’t find one I loved. More than a decade later, I’m still walking the beaches of North Vancouver Island, scanning the tideline for the next glimmer of frosted green, aqua or cobalt.

Pebble and Pask grew from those walks. Every photograph on the calendars, notepads and cards is my own, taken on the beach where the glass was found, on the day I found it, in whatever light the day brings.

I’m based in Port Hardy, where the highway ends and the adventure begins. Many of my favourite beaches are an hour or more down rough gravel roads, and every trip is shared with family and friends who are sometimes patient enough to wait while I take one more picture.

What makes it different

Real glass, real beaches

Genuine ocean-tumbled glass, photographed where the tide left it. No studio and no collection jar.

Printed in Canada

Every design is made on North Vancouver Island and printed in Canada, then packed and shipped from Port Hardy.

Made to be used

Functional, not just art. Calendars, notepads and cards that bring a small piece of the coast into your everyday.

How each photograph comes to be

The find

I gather pieces through the day as the tide reveals them, always wondering what’s around the next corner.

The arrangement

When the light, the background and my companions all line up, I arrange the day’s finds in the tidal zone, sometimes adding a shell or moving a distracting rock.

The photograph

Each picture is taken right there on the beach of origin, in natural light, with simple pocket-friendly gear. Editing is kept to straightening and cropping.
